NVivo has been the dominant tool in academic qualitative research for two decades. It's great for in-depth interviews, ethnography, focus group analysis with video, and qualitative work where the researcher needs to code by hand and review every fragment. Survey Coder Pro doesn't compete in that space — they're different problems.
